Dense Fog Advisory
The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for the following counties: Jenkins, Screven, Candler, Bulloch, Effingham, Tattnall, Evans, Bryan, Chatham, Long, Liberty, and McIntosh.
This Dense Fog Advisory is in effect from 3a.m. to 9a.m. Friday.
The combination of clear skies, nearly calm winds and a high atmospheric moisture content will make conditions favorable for the development of areas of dense fog across much of southeast Georgia overnight.
Visibilities are expected to drop to 1/4 mile or less at times. The lowest visibilties will occur near low lying areas such as ditches, marshes, creeks and rivers. Visibilties will improve as the fog dissipates mid-morning Friday.
A Dense Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your low beam headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of you in case a suddent stop is needed.
