The National Weather Service has issued a

* flood advisory for minor flooding of poor drainage areas in…
  Jenkins county in southeast Georgia…

* until 200 pm edt

* At 12:27 pm edt…National Weather Service doppler radar indicated
  heavy rain occurring along a line extending from Birdsville to Herndon…
  or along a line extending from 9 miles northwest of Millen to 10 miles
  west of Millen. The area of heavy rain was nearly stationary.

* Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to…
  Perkins…Birdsville…
  Herndon…
  Rogers…

Radar estimates of up to 2 to 2.5 inches of rain has fallen since this
morning…and an additional 1 to 2 inches will occur. A flash flood
warning may be required at a later time should the heavy rains
persist.

Keep children away from drainage ditches…storm sewers and creeks.
Even a small amount of moving water has enough force to knock down
and carry away children.
