A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 10p.m. for the following counties: Appling, Bacon, Brantley, Candler, Emanuel, Evans, Jeff Davis, Long, Montgomery, Pierce, Tattnall, Toombs, Treutlen, Ware, Wayne and Wheeler.
A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH means severe thunderstorms could develop. These are thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain, frequent lightning, large hail and damaging winds.
In the event of severe weather, stay tuned to STORM TEAM 3.
Also, there is a COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY in effect until 11p.m. for the following areas: coastal Bryan, coastal Chatham, coastal Liberty, coastal McIntosh, Beaufort, coastal Colleton and coastal Jasper.
Unusually high astronomical spring tides will continue to produce elevated tides across south coastal South Carolina and north coastal Georgia today and tonight.
Tide levels are expected to peak between 9.5 and 9.9 feet mean lower low water at the Savannah River entrance with this evening’s high tide, which is around 8:30p.m. These levels typically produce moderate shallow coastal flooding along the beaches, sounds, marshes and nearby rivers.
