Urban and small stream flood advisory for minor flooding of poor drainage areas in…

Appling county… this includes the cities of… Surrency… Baxley
eastern Bacon county
western Brantley county
northeastern Jeff Davis county
Pierce county… this includes the cities of… Patterson… Blackshear
northwestern Wayne county

Until 215 pm edt

At 1241 pm edt weather service doppler radar indicated heavy rain occurring from near Blackshear to Bristol and Surrency. One to three inches is possible in the advisory area.

Excessive runoff from these storms will cause flooding of small creeks and streams… highways… streets and underpasses. Additionally… country roads and farmlands along the banks of creeks and streams and other low lying areas are subject to flooding.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground. remember… turn around dont drown.
