Tropical Depression Ida is moving northward away from Honduras, and it could become a tropical storm soon.

At 10p.m., the center of Tropical Depression Ida was located near Latitude 16.2 North and Longitude 84.0 West or about 110 miles east-northeast of Limon, Honduras.

Ida is moving toward the north near 7mph, and this general motion is expected to continue tonight with a turn toward the north-northwest on Saturday.  On this track, Ida is forecast to approach the Yucatan Channel late Sunday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35mph with higher gusts.  Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Ida could become a tropical storm tonight or on Saturday.
