The United Way tells us it's received $592,146.98 in donations for refinery victims. Some checks have come from as far away as South Dakota.
Several groups and businesses are doing what they can to help. Through a barbeque last Sunday and selling Dixie Crystals hats and shirts -- Gerald's Diner raised more than $27,000 for explosion victims.
"Personally, I feel like I didn't do that much. It was everyone else that helped and they were the ones that wrote the checks," says Gerald Schantz, who owns Gerald’s Diner.
If you'd still like to donate, just stop by any SunTrust Bank location to make a donation or send your donation directly to the United Way. All of the money raised will help families of the workers.
