The explosion shook the town of Port Wentworth – as well as surrounding areas. It was felt as far away as the islands and the Lowcountry and some homes in the immediate area even saw some damage.
One Port Wentworth homeowner called NEWS 3 because she didn't know who to contact about damages at her house. She says the explosion left cracks all over her home – in her walls and ceiling. She thought the massive blast was an earthquake.
"It literally took me off the floor. I mean literally. And the whole house just went boom," says Dale Brown.
