Paul Seckinger is one of the people hurt badly in the refinery explosion and today more people came together to support him. NEWS 3's Tristan Tully shows us despite the tragedy, people still have high hopes for the victims involved.
If you could only smell what these folks are cooking. Friends of Paul Seckinger gathered together at their North Effingham Hunting Club to raise money for the refinery fire victim. He's still in critical condition at the burn center in Augusta.
Jamie Bevill, Put On Fundraiser:
"We felt like as club members to have some kind of fundraiser to support him and his family so he loves to come up here and hunt and cook out with us so this was one of our ideas that we had to put this together."
Aside from the amazing barbecue, the highlight of the fundraiser was the four-wheeling. People came from all over the coastal empire with their ATV's to ride trails, and of course, go mudding.
Jeffery Marsh, Member of Hunting Club:
"Everybody's been in a good mood, having a good time, and everything just working really smooth."
Dan Bunch, Fundraiser Participant:
"Fixin to get out there in the mud hole and play a little bit. Having fun."
However as much fun as these folks are having, the focus remains on their friend, Paul, and the rest of the families involved in the refinery blast.
Jeffery Marsh, Member of Hunting Club:
"Now that it's all over, it's not as big, talked about or thought about, but these boys has got years of not just physical, but mental things they've got to get through, because this was a really bad tragedy."
Dan Bunch, Fundraiser Participant:
"I'm glad to see this many here, I mean, I'm glad to see people pull together like this."
