Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity Hosts Imperial Sugar Volunteers

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Savannah Imperial Sugar employees are giving back to their local community through a partnership with the Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity that will build homes for families in need.  Local Imperial Sugar employees have volunteered to pick up their hammers at Savannah’s Habitat work sites at 2118 and 2120 Essex Avenue on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, (March 18 -20) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  The employees will build two new homes for Savannah families.

“We want to give back to the local Savannah community some of the overwhelming support we received during the recent refinery fire,” said Mark Schulman, Director of Manufacturing, Imperial Sugar.  “We are proud of our Imperial Sugar employees who wish to help Savannah’s Habitat.”  The current two-home Habitat construction project, underwritten by CitiFinancial and Julius and Danyse Edel, will bring over 300 local volunteers from all walks of life together to help provide affordable housing for two Chatham County families.
