In the continuing effort to help victims of the sugar refinery blast, Olive Branch Baptist Church in Ellabell held a blood drive for some of its own. Several Imperial Sugar employees attend that church.
Today, members teamed up with the Shepard Community Blood Center, which provides blood directly to the burn center in Augusta.
Melissa Cook, Blood Drive Coordinator:
"Well, we wanted to do something and we know that giving the blood would be more useful than giving money, monetary help so to speak because not everybody can afford to give money, but everybody has blood."
You can find a list of all blood drives and donation locations for refinery victims at www.wsav.com. Just search using the keyword "explosion".
