Oleksiak scores 29, UNC Greensboro tops Georgia Southern 79-67

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Kevin Oleksiak scored 29 points to

establish a season-high for the second straight game, and North

Carolina-Greensboro beat Georgia Southern 79-67.

Ben Stywall added 16 points and Kyle Hines added 15 for the

Spartans (8-4, 2-1 Southern Conference), who shot 45 percent and

knocked down 42 percent of their 3-point shots in winning their

fifth straight.

Oleksiak had his second strong game of the week, hitting five of

the 11 3s he attempted to surpass the 28 points he scored against

Central Arkansas. He finished just shy of his career-high 31

points, set two seasons ago against Greensboro College.

Louis Graham had 24 points, Julian Allen scored 17 and Matthew

Fields added 10 for Georgia Southern (9-5, 2-2), which held a 41-38

rebounding advantage but had trouble from long range, hitting just

5-of-19 attempts from beyond the arc.

Before the game, U-N-C Greensboro announced it would retire

Hines' jersey Number 42 later this season in honor of the school's

leading scorer and shot-blocker who also is closing in on the

Spartans' rebounding record. He will become the school's first

active player to receive the honor.
