For 55 years, Ashley Dearing has been handing out the Dearing Award to Savannah's most versatile male athlete. This year the honor goes to Savannah Country Day's three sports star, John Moesch. Moesch played football, basketball, and baseball for the Hornets. Moesch will be headed to Tufts College in Boston next year to study pre-med. He hopes to one day become a cardiologist, but also plans to still find time to play football and baseball. 37 athletes were on the ballot this year for the Dearing Award, which is chosen by a committee of coaches and media.
