Marion Jones Reports to Jail

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Gold Medal Winner Marion Jones reported to a federal prison facility in Fort Worth, Texas today, according to a Bureau of Prisons spokesperson.

Last October, Jones tearfully admitted to using steroids and lying to Federal Investigators... and about her involvement in a check-fraud scheme.

She pleaded guilty to charges and was sentenced to six months in jail, two years probation  and was ordered to perform 800 hours of community service.

Jones has since returned all five medals, including three gold medals she won during the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney due to her use of steroids at the time.

Jones is serving her time at the Federal Medial Center-Carswell in Fort Worth.

She had until March 11th to report to the facility.

Jones says she used steroids from the Bay area laboratory co-operative, BALCO, and is the first professional sports figure to receive prison time for using steroids.
