Galloway Wins Ashley Dearing Cup

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Senior guard Jamaal Galloway knows the importance of good free throw shooting.  Tuesday Galloway was awarded the annual Ashley Dearing Cup for leading the AASU Pirates in free throw percentage.  Galloway set a single season record by hitting 60 of 65 free throws for the Pirates for 92.3 percent.  The award was established by long-time Savannah area sports supporter Ashley Dearing back in 1954 to emphasize the importance of free throw.  Dearing was on hand, along with many Pirates players, to present the cup to Galloway.  It's the second time that he has won it.
