Nine golfers shot sub-par rounds at Bacon Park Golf Course after the first round of the 2008 Savannah City Amateur tournament.
Led by Mark Silvers with a 5-under 66, the field took advantage of near perfect conditions and smooth-rolling greens.
John Skeadas III will start in the final group after firing an opening round 67.
The leaders will tee off at 2:10 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
