Former South Effingham Mustangs baseball player Josh Reddick made his Major League Debut with the Boston Red Sox Friday evening against the Baltimore Orioles. He grounded out as a pinch hitter.
Things got a whole lot better Saturday night as the 2005 South Effingham grad hit two doubles. Sunday afternoon he broke loose with his first MLB home run. Reddick cleared the left-centerfield fence at Camden Yards. He followed up with a run-scoring single to finish the game 2-6 with 2 rbi's and 2 runs scored.
The Red Sox won 18-10 Sunday. Reddick is 4-11 overall with a .364 average.
