Savannah State head coach Robby Wells is excited about the battle brewing for his starting quarterback position. He tells me he'd like to name a starter as soon as possible. But, both A.J. Defilippis and Kurvin Curry are proving their worth for the Tigers. Each qb has improved since last season and is staking his claim to the top spot.

Defilippis is a sophomore from Benectine Military in Savannah. He took the most snaps in Spring camp, mainly because Curry was sidelined with poor grades in the classroom. Curry has improved in that area and has quickly realized he has to push himself even more than ever to gain back his starting job he held at the end of last season.
