Benjamin Flores Dies After Fight With Savannah's Al Seeger

Boxer Benjamin Flores died early Tuesday morning, five days after a fight with Savannah native Al Seeger.

Flores, 24, and Seeger were fighting for the NABF super bantamweight title in Dallas. In the eighth round, Seeger knocked down Flores, who lost consciousness. Flores underwent emergency brain surgery, and was in a coma for several days.

Seeger, now 29, has been a professional boxer for seven years.

According to BoxingScene.com, Flores, a Houston native, leaves behind a fiancé and son.
