CARTER ARRESTED
Former Dallas Cowboys QB arrested in Abilene
ABILENE, Texas (AP) - Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Quincy
Carter is free on bond after his arrest in Abilene.
Abilene police Sgt. Keith Shackleford said the former Georgia
Bulldog was arrested Sunday night on a probation violation warrant
from Dallas County. The violation arose from a February arrest in
South Texas for alleged drunken driving.
Carter now quarterbacks the 3-3 Abilene Ruff Riders of the
Indoor Football League. In 2003, he led the Cowboys to a 10-6
season and the playoffs in their first season under coach Bill
Parcells.
Dallas released Carter in training camp before the 2004 season.
He started briefly for the New York Jets before poor play and
drug-related arrests ended his NFL career. He played in the Arena
League before a brief tryout last year with the Miami Dolphins.
