STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) - Jordan Sorrells threw for 244 yards and
Furman scored two touchdowns as Furman defeated Georgia Southern
30-22 on Saturday.
The Paladins (5-5, 4-3 Southern Conference), who snapped a
three-game losing streak, took a 7-0 lead on Tersoo Uhaa's 16-yard
run with 9:17 left in the first quarter. Ryan Steed's 44-yard
interception return for a score gave Furman a 14-0 advantage midway
through the first quarter.
The defeat assured the Eagles (4-6, 3-4) of a losing season for
only the third time since football resumed in 1982.
Sorrells was 17 of 23 for 244 yards and one touchdown and Mike
Brown had 53 yards rushing.

than their average.

Georgia Southern.
