Calvary and Savannah Country Day renew their annual rivalry this Friday night at Calvary Day School. Each school coming in with identical records, 3-2 overall and 1-0 in Region 3A-A.
The Hornets were beaten by the Cavs last season 26-20 in a classic battle that went down to the final seconds. This season the Hornets enter the game having won 3 straight after a tough 0-2 start.
Calvary is fresh off a comeback win for the ages over Bryan County. The Cavs trailed 21-0 with 8:30 left in the 4th quarter... and proceeded to score 24 straight to stun the Redskins.
Notes: Mike Carswell, Hornets' head coach in 2008, will face his former team as an assistant at Calvary. Dennis Coyle is the new head coach at Savannah Country Day.
