Former Savannah State receiver Shannon Sharpe spent the day as the honored guest.. and in the meantime his #2 jersey is officially retired. Sharpe waited 20 years for this day to come.

Sharpe led the Tigers from 1986-189 as the schools' greatest receiver. His 1989 team had the best record (8-1) in history. Sharpe talked to a crowd of a few hundred people at Tiger arena and unveiled his #2 jersey that will NOT be worn again at the school.
He went on to enjoy a 14-year career in the National Football League with the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens.. winning three Super Bowl's along the way.
