Savannah Christian Girls Heading to the State Finals

Savannah Christian Lady Raiders are looking for their first state championship title. Wednesday night in Macon the Lady Raiders defeated Southwest Atlanta Christian 50-38. Kelly Reid led the way with 16 points. Randi Friess chiped in with 13 and Taylor Turner 10. SCPS head coach Toy Byrd picks up her 100th career win.

The Lady Raiders will take on Wesleyan Saturday morning at 11 a.m. Wesleyan is the Class-A defending champion. They also won Double-A titles in 2004, 05, 06 and 08.

Savannah Christian fell behind early by seven points only to chip away and take over the lead in the second quarter. They led the entire second half, except for a brief moment by one point.
