Savannah Christian, Vidalia Fall Short in State Title Games

Savannah Christan girls basketball team started out strong over Class-A defending state champion Wesleyan. But gradually the Lady Wolves wore down the Lady Raiders 65-49 to claim their 5th state title in the past 8 years.

Vidalia ladies fell behind by double-digits early and never recovered in losing to Buford 50-38.

For the Lady Raiders in the Class-A game.. Adrienne Defilippis led the way with 17 points while junior Kelly Reid scored 16. SCPS finishes with a 21-7 record.

The Lady Indians finish the season 31-1 advancing to the title game for the first time ever. Buford successfully defended its Class-AA title.
