Late Thursday, two bodies were recovered from the wreckage of the Austin, Texas IRS building.
They appear to be that of 53 year old Andrew Joseph Stack and an IRS worker missing since the crash.
On Friday, FBI investigators combed through the debris outside the echelon building one, looking for additional clues as to what may have caused stack to crash his plane.
One pressing question for investigators: was his plane loaded with anything other than fuel to help the fire spread?
"I cant believe that 40 gallons of aviation fuel would create that kind of fireball over that large area," said former NTSB investigator Greg Feith.
At the same time, fire investigators were at the home of Andrew john and Sheryl stack Friday looking for clues in the charred remains of their home.
Officials believe stack set the fire before leaving on his deadly flight.
His wife Sheryl and daughter were rescued by neighbors.
"Words cannot express my sorrow said stack spokesman Rayford Walker. "She's sorry for everyone affected by the tragedy and offers her "sincerest sympathy" for the victims and their families.
Stack's grudge with the government was detailed in a 3,000 word internet diatribe which he rails on the IRS, he titled it: "Well, Mr. Big brother IRS man, take my pound of flesh."
The NTSB has officially turned the case over to the FBI.
Both agencies are now left to re-examine the policies for background checks on private pilots.
