A tornado watch is in effect for the following Georgia counties: Glynn, Ware, Camden, Charlton, Clinch, and Echols until 5 AM Friday morning. The previous tornado watch for Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Brantley, Coffee, Jeff Davis, Pierce, and Wayne Counties has been allowed to expire.
Strong thunderstorms will continue to move across southern Georgia and northern Florida overnight. Places to the north of the watch area may still see a few isolated strong thunderstorms early Friday morning, but most of the storm activity will be scattered and shouldn't reach severe thunderstorm criteria. That being said, an isolated severe thunderstorm is still possible north of the watch area.
The storms should move offshore after dawn, and by late Friday morning we should see mostly sunny skies.
