A Flood Watch is in effect from late tonight through Friday evening for the following counties: Coffee, Jeff Davis, Bacon, Appling and Wayne.
Widespread rains are expected to develop across the watch area late tonight and persist through Friday evening. Rainfall amounts during this event will average between 2 and 3 inches with locally heavier amounts possible.
The ground in these areas is nearly saturated. In addition, minor flooding is already occurring along portions of the Altamaha River.
Additional flooding near the Altamaha River is possible along with low-land flooding.
