Wow, what a day! The forecast turned out as predicted...heavy rain and flooding for much of the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry. Much of the area picked up at least 1 inch of rain, but some locations picked up as much as 4 inches!
Even if the rain has stopped falling in your area, it's still a good idea to play it safe. Flooding could continue in some locations for a good while longer. Slow down when traveling, allow extra distance between you and the vehicle ahead, and do not drive into water of unknown depth.
We have posted flood pictures on WSAV.COM and on our facebook page. Be sure to check them out.
For now though, it's time to look ahead.
For tonight, rain showers will still be possible up until around midnight. After that, it will be dry with overcast skies. With northwest winds, we will drop to lows in the upper 30s to the mid 40s.
On Saturday, skies will start off mostly cloudy. Clouds will then decrease throughout the day. Despite the sunshine returning, it will stay on the cool side with highs reaching the lower to mid 50s.
On Saturday night, we will only see a few clouds from time to time. It will turn cooler with overnight lows dropping to the mid 30s to upper 30s for inland areas and near 40 on the coast.
Sunday will stay dry too with partly cloudy skies and highs again in the 50s.
As a matter of fact, we should stay dry until midweek. It's not until Christmas Eve when another storm system could hit, bringing back a chance of rain showers.
Have a wonderful weekend and keep looking up!
