Reports from along highway 80 indicate the high tide this morning is very high and may approach the road along parts of the marshes close to or appraching Tybee Island.
The strong onshore winds and rainfall will cause shallow coastal flooding along the southern South Carolina and northern Georgia coasts around the time of high
tide this morning. Tides are expected to top out around 9.2 feet mean lower low water at the Savannah River Entrance. Many locations... such as low lying areas near and along the beaches... marshes and tidal creeks... along portions of the intracoastal and tidal rivers will be affected by the elevated tides. The potential for moderate to heavy rain during this time will only exacerbate the coastal flooding.
High tide is expected to occur at 902 am at the Savannah River Entrance... and 1011 am on the Beaufort River at Beaufort.
