Considering we're ending the year with above average rainfall totals, I suppose it's only appropriate that we end the year with yet another rain event. It may not be the news you want to hear, but I do have something positive to tell you. Despite the rain, it won't be as cold!!! That's something...right?!?
For tonight, the clouds have already moved in and now we wait on the rain. Basically after 11p.m., there will be a chance of rain showers. Otherwise, we will see cloudy skies and much milder overnight lows in the 40s for inland areas and the lower 50s on the coast.
On Thursday, skies will stay mostly cloudy, and there will be a chance of rain showers throughout the day. This isn't a big a rain event. It will, however, still be a nuisance. Afternoon highs are expected to reach the lower to mid 60s. If we see even a little more sunshine than expected, this could boost our highs into the upper 60s.
By Thursday night for New Year's Eve, expect a few rain showers. If you're heading out and about, I'd bring along an umbrella or raincoat. Skies will still remain cloudy. At midnight, expect temperatures to be in the lower to mid 50s, so it won't be too cold. Then overnight, temperatures will barely drop to the upper 40s to the lower 50s.
On Friday, a few rain showers could fall during the first part of the day. After that, drier air will return...and colder air will return too. Over the weekend and into next week, highs will only reach the upper 40s to the lower 50s and lows will drop to the 20s!!!!
Keep Looking Up!
