A flood warning continues for the Savannah River at Burtons Ferry affecting Screven County, and for the river near Clyo affecting Effingham County in southeastern Georgia as well as Hampton and Jasper Counties in South Carolina.
At 10 pm Wednesday the Savannah River at Burtons Ferry had a stage of 16.9 feet. Flood stage is 15 feet. Minor flooding is occurring. The river is forecast to continue rising to 17.3 feet through Friday morning, then begin a slow fall. At 18.2 feet, the picnic area at Stoney Bluff Landing becomes flooded. Access to the house at the end of Stoney Bluff Landing Road is limited.
At 9 pm Wednesday the Savannah River near Clyo had a stage of 15.9 feet. Flood stage is 11 feet. Moderate flooding is occurring. The river is forecast to remain steady through for the next couple of days, then begin a slow fall. At 14.5 feet, the bottom floor of several riverfront homes along Tom Goethe Road begin to flood.
A flood warning remains in effect for the Ogeechee River near Midville affecting Burke, Jenkins, and Emanuel Counties, and for the river near Eden affecting Bryan, Effingham, and Chatham Counties.
At 8 pm Wednesday the Ogeechee River near Midville had a stage of 6.6 feet. Flood stage is 6 feet. Minor flooding is occurring. The river is forecast to slowly fall to 6.2 feet by Saturday morning. At 6.0 feet, the access road into the river bluff in Midville begins to flood. The lower portion of Johnson Road near Herndon also becomes covered.
At 9 pm Wednesday the Ogeechee River near Eden had a stage of 13.0 feet. Flood stage is 9 feet. Moderate flooding is occurring and forecast. The river is forecast to rise to 13.3 feet by Thursday morning, then begin a slow fall. At 13.5 feet, several homes and a picnic area along Yarbrough Landing Road begin to flood.
A flood warning continues for the Ohoopee River near Reidsville affecting Tattnall County.
At 9 pm Wednesday the Ohoopee River near Reidsville had a stage of 14.0 feet. Flood stage is 11 feet. Minor flooding is occurring. The river is forecast to fall to 13.0 feet by Saturday morning. At 14.0 feet, flooding of several riverside unimproved roads and some agricultural land occurs.
A flood warning continues for the Oconee River near Mount Vernon affecting Montgomery and Treutlen Counties.
At 4 pm Wednesday the Oconee River near Mount Vernon had a stage of 15.6 feet and falling. No flooding is occurring at this time, but minor flooding is forecast to develop. Flood stage is 16.0 feet. The river is forecast to rise to above flood stage Thursday afternoon. The river should rise to 16.2 feet by Saturday morning, but is forecast to fall below flood stage by Sunday morning. At 16.0 feet, the flood plain is flooded affecting mainly grazing land and timberlands. Water reaches the top of the boat ramp on the Wheeler County side of the river..
A flood warning continues for the Altamaha River at Charlotte affecting Jeff Davis, Montgomery, and Toombs Counties, for the river at Baxley affecting Appling and Toombs Counties, and for the river near Everett City in extreme northwestern Glynn County.
At 11:45 am Wednesday the Altamaha River at Charlotte had a stage of 18.2 feet. Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 15.0 feet. The river is forecast to fall to 17.9 feet on Thursday. At 21.0 feet, homes are affected on the north bank of the river just downstream of gage.
At 11:45 am Wednesday the Altamaha River at Baxley had a stage of 79.9 feet. Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 74.5 feet. The river is forecast to fall to 79.7 feet on Thursday. At 82.0 feet, Davis Landing Road and Morris Landing Road are flooded.
At 5 pm Wednesday the Altamaha River 3 miles northeast of Everett City had a stage of 15.0 feet and steady. The river is forecast to rise to 15.1 before beginning a slow fall over the weekend. At 15.0 feet, major flooding occurs along all roads to the southwest of the Altamaha up to Highway 341. Water affects homes along Pennick and Old Jesup Roads as well as homes in Altamaha Park.
A flood warning continues for the Satilla River at Atkinson affecting Brantley County.
At 11:45 am Wednesday the Satilla River at Atkinson had a stage of 12.8 feet. Minor flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 13.0 feet. The river is forecast to rise to 13.1 feet by Friday morning. The river should fall below flood stage by Sunday evening. At 13.0 feet, Warner Landing, Louis Landing, and secondary roads around KOA Campgrounds begin to flood.
