More than 30,000 people have been urged to leave their homes in Western Washington as overflowing rivers from melting snow and heavy rains continue to flood.

Warmer weather and heavy rains have been melting snow in the region.

Now, swollen rivers, mudslides and avalanches have prompted authorities to urge people to leave.

Rising waters have led officials to close a number of roads, including a 20 mile stretch of interstate-five around Chehalis.
