A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for western Bryan, extreme south central Bulloch, southeastern Evans, western Liberty, Long, northwestern McIntosh, and southern Tattnall Counties in southeast Georgia until 9:15 pm.
At 8:08 pm national weather service doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing penny size hail...and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. These storms were located along a line extending from 8 miles north of Groveland to 10 miles west of Mendes...or along a line extending from 7 miles west of bay to 7 miles south of Reidsville...moving southeast at 35 mph.
This is a dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds...take cover immediately. Severe thunderstorm winds can be as destructive as a tornado and are capable of flipping automobiles and mobile homes. Abandon vehicles and mobile homes for more substantial
shelter. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor and avoid
windows.
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until midnight Friday morning for southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina.
