A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for northeastern Coffee, western Wayne, southern Appling, southern Jeff Davis, northern Bacon Counties in southeast Georgia until 9:30 pm.
At 8:46 pm national weather service doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing penny size hail...and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. These storms were located along a line extending from Surrency to 11 miles north of West Green...or along a line extending from Surrency to 10 miles southwest of Hazlehurst...and moving south at 15 mph.
A severe thunderstorm is capable of producing large hail...damaging winds of 58 mph or greater...deadly lightning and very heavy rain. Go inside a sturdy shelter. Move to an interior room and stay away from windows.
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until midnight Friday morning for southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina.
