Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Evans, Long and Tattnall Counties

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for south central Evans, Long, and Tattnall Counties until 5:30 pm.

At 4:26 pm national weather service doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. These storms were located along a line extending from 8 miles northeast of Hazlehurst to Baxley to 6 miles north of Alma moving east at 40 mph.

Remain alert, weather conditions will rapidly deteriorate as storms approach. Seek shelter in a sturdy building, move to an interior room and stay away from windows.
