Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain will be possible this week from Tuesday through Sunday.
A low pressure system and an associated warm front will advance into the region by Wednesday. Late Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, conditions may become favorable for a few severe thunderstorms. These thunderstorms could produce damaging wind gusts, large hail and isolated tornadoes. Also, these thunderstorms could produce locally excessive rainfall. One weather model is predicting as much as 2-3 inches from this event alone.
Another storm system may produce severe thunderstorms and heavy rain Thursday and Thursday night.

Also, in severe weather news, the monthly siren test for Chatham County has been postponed to April 8th. This is due to the installation of 30 new sirens throughout the county. All of these new sirens will be installed and ready to go by April 8th.
