The flash flood watch is in effect until 10 pm edt this evening...
Tropical moisture continued to flow onshore across southeast
South Carolina and southeast Georgia. This tropical airmass
supported widespread showers along and south of the
Savannah River... and showers will continue to impact this
region into the evening.
Individual showers may produce heavy rainfall rates of 1 to 2
inches per hour. Since significant rainfall has already impacted
this region during recent days... additional persistent heavy
rain may produce flash flooding.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A flash flood watch means there is a potential for flash flooding
based on current forecasts. Monitor the latest forecasts and be
alert for possible flash flood warnings. Those living in areas
prone to flooding should be prepared to take action if flooding
develops.
