Light winds and moist air this morning have created favorable conditions for areas of dense fog across portions of southern South Carolina and north coastal Georgia. Dense fog has been reported from Walterboro South Carolina southbound through the Savannah Georgia area to the Altamaha River... including much of the interstate 95 corridor. Visibilities in many areas will be reduced to one quarter mile or less through sunrise. conditions will gradually improve during the late morning hours.
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down... use your low beam headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed. Motorists are urged to be especially aware of school buses and children awaiting to be picked up. Allow extra time to reach your destination.
