The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory... which is in effect until 11 am est this morning for the coastal counties of southern South Carolina.
The combination of moderate northeast winds and small lingering swells over the atlantic will result in elevated tides again this morning along the southern South Carolina coastal counties. This includes... Colleton... Beaufort and Jasper counties.
These high tide levels will produce shallow salt water flooding across some low lying areas near and along the beaches... marshes... tidal creeks and rivers... and the intracoastal.
The morning high tide will occur at 952 am est at Beaufort... and at 843 am est at the Savannah River entrance at Fort Pulaski.
A coastal flood advisory indicates that winds and tides will combine to generate some salt water flooding of low-lying areas near the coast.
