A flood warning continues for the Ogeechee River near Midville affecting Burke, Emanuel, and Jenkins Counties.
At 10 am Wednesday the stage was 6.1 feet. Flood stage is 6 feet. Minor flooding is occurring. The river is forecast to fall below flood stage Wednesday afternoon. At 6.0 feet...water begins to flood the river access road.
A flood warning is in effect for the Savannah River at Burtons Ferry affecting Screven County in Georgia and Allendale and Hampton Counties in South Carolina; as well as for the Savannah River near Clyo affecting Effingham County in Georgia and Jasper County in South Carolina.
At 10 am Wednesday the stage of the Savannah River at Burtons Ferry was 14.4 feet...and rising. Flood stage is 15 feet. No flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. The river is forecast to rise above flood stage Thursday afternoon...and continue rising to 16.5 feet early Monday morning. At 15.0 feet...flooding of some adjacent agricultural lands occurs. Most boat ramps along the river are unusable.
At 9 am Wednesday the stage of the Savannah River near Clyo was 10.5 feet...and rising. Flood stage is 11 feet. No flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. The river is forecast to rise above flood stage Thursday morning...and continue rising to 13.1 feet Monday morning. At 13.3 feet...one foot of water covers Tom Goethe Road just after the pavement ends.
