The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory...which is in effect until 8 am est this morning... for the following counties:
Jenkins- Screven- Candler- Bulloch- Effingham- Tattnall- Evans- inland Bryan- inland Chatham- Long- inland Liberty- inland Mcintosh- Allendale- Hampton- inland Colleton- inland Jasper-
Including the cities of... Millen... Sylvania... Metter... Statesboro... Springfield... Reidsville... Claxton... Pembroke... Savannah... Ludowici... Hinesville... Townsend... Allendale... Hampton... Walterboro... Ridgeland
Widespread dense fog will overspread much of southeast South Carolina and southeast Georgia tonight under clear skies and fairly light winds. Visibilities of 1/4 mile or less can be expected with visibilities occasionally dropping to near zero at times... mainly near low lying areas such as large ditches... marshes and rivers. Visibilities will begin to improve after sunrise.
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down... use your low beam headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed.
