A FREEZE WARNING is now in effect from 2a.m. to 9a.m. Saturday for the following counties: Jenkins, Screven, Allendale, Hampton and Inland Colleton.
The combination of clear skies and diminishing winds will allow temperatures to drop near or just below freezing across interior portions of southeast South Carolina and southeast Georgia tonight.
The risk of freezing temperatures will be greatest along and north of a line from Scarboro to Sylvania in southeast Georgia from Crocketville to Ridgeville and Jamestown in southeast South Carolina. This includes the communities of Millen, Sylvania, Walterboro, Saint George and Moncks Corner.
Expect freezing temperatures for around three hours across much of the freeze warning area. A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill sensitive vegetation.
