The center of Henri is exposed to the west of the convection late this morning and is a little less organized on satellite views. Further weakening is likely over the next day or so due to strong southwesterly upper level wind shear which will produce a rather hostile enveronment for the storm.
As for the particulars...
At 1100 am edt... the center of tropical storm Henri was located near latitude 18.9 north... longitude 57.4 west or about 375 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands.
Henri is moving toward the west-northwest near 15 mph... and this motion is expected to continue for the next day or so... followed by a turn toward the west at a slower forward speed.
Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 45 mph... with higher gusts. Continued weakening is forecast during the next couple of days... and Henri is expected to dissipate on Thursday.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 70 miles from the center.
Estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb... 29.74 inches.
The next advisory will be issued by the National Hurricane Center at 500 pm edt.
