A wind advisory has been issued today until 6 pm est this evening for the entire coastal empire and low country.
As low pressure deepens off the mid atlantic coast... strong westerly winds will impact southeast South Carolina and southeast Georgia today with speeds in the 25 to 35 mph range. Gusts as high as 45 mph are also possible. Winds may be even stronger on elevated bridges and overpasses.
The very wet ground conditions could result in some downed trees and power lines given the magnitude of forecast winds.
Winds should diminish after sunset this evening.
A wind advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution... especially on bridges and overpasses.
