Twenty-four hours ago, Dallas, Texas, picked up nearly a foot of snow, which never happens. Today, 4 to 6 inches of snow was common from Louisiana to Mississippi and Alabama.
Now the storm is headed east, and it's our turn to see the action.
From this afternoon to this evening, a low pressure system will move across the Florida peninsula to off the Carolina coast.
At first, we will see all rain. Then rain will mix with snow as colder air moves in from the north. Then this evening, the precipitation will change over to all snow. This snow could be moderate to heavy at times!
So here is the forecast county by county.
A WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect until 6a.m. Saturday for the following counties: Jenkins, Screven, Candler, Bulloch, Effingham, Tattnall, Evans, Allendale, Hampton, inland Colleton and inland Jasper.
In this area, expect moderate to heavy snow this evening before tapering off after midnight. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, with locally higher amounts, can be expected.

A WINTER STORM WARNING is also in effect until 6a.m. Saturday for the following counties: Beaufort, coastal Colleton, and coastal Jasper.
In this area, expect moderate to heavy snow at times tonight, tapering off prior to daybreak Saturday. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected. Locally higher amounts are possible along the U.S. Hwy 17 corridor north of Beaufort.

Snow, moderate to heavy at times, will persist through this evening before tapering off after midnight. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with locally higher amounts inland from the coast can be expected.

A WINTER STORM ADVISORY is in effect until 6a.m. Saturday for the following counties: coastal Bryan, coastal Chatham, coastal Liberty, and McIntosh.
Light snow, possibly moderate at times, will persist through this evening before tapering off by midnight. Total snow accumulations of around 1 inch can be expected through early Saturday morning.
