Flood Warnings Update

A flood warning continues for the Savannah River at Burtons Ferry affecting Screven County, and for the river near Clyo affecting Effingham County in southeastern Georgia as well as Hampton and Jasper Counties in South Carolina.

At 8 pm Saturday the Savannah River at Burtons Ferry had a stage of 16.8 feet. Flood stage is 15 feet. Minor flooding is occurring. The river is forecast to drop below flood stage by Tuesday evening. At 15.0 feet, flooding of some adjacent agricultural lands occurs. Most boat ramps along the river are unusable.

At 8 pm Saturday the Savannah River near Clyo had a stage of 15.6 feet. Flood stage is 11 feet. Moderate flooding is occurring. The river is forecast to continue its slow fall. At 14.5 feet, the bottom floor of several riverfront homes along Tom Goethe Road begin to flood.



A flood warning remains in effect for the Ogeechee River near Eden affecting Bryan, Effingham, and Chatham Counties.

At 8 pm Saturday the Ogeechee River near Eden had a stage of 11.1 feet. Flood stage is 9 feet. Minor flooding is occurring. The river is forecast to continue falling. At 12.0 feet, the bottom floor of several homes at Morgans Bridge begin to flood. The boat ramp and campground along Dashers Landing Road near Eden are impacted.



A flood warning continues for the Altamaha River at Baxley affecting Appling and Toombs Counties and for the river near Everett City in extreme northwestern Glynn County.

At 7:45 pm Saturday the Altamaha River at Baxley had a stage of 76.0 feet. Minor flooding is occurring. Flood stage is 74.5 feet. The river is forecast to fall below flood stage by Tuesday morning. At 78.0 feet, water begins to affect home in the Carter Bight and Davis Landing areas.

At 3 am Saturday the Altamaha River 3 miles northeast of Everett City had a stage of 13.7 feet. The river is forecast to continue its slow and steady fall through the next week. At 13.0 feet, elevated water levels will impact Altamaha Park Road and Pennick Road. Portions of Altamaha Park will be inundated.
