Well, it was only a matter of time. Problem is, this moment hasn't come soon enough for most.
The start of 2010 in southeastern South Carolina and southeastern Georgia has been characterized by a long duration period of abnormally cold temperatures. Despite the duration of the cold, no record temperatures have been broken.
Looking back at records for extended periods of cold weather, the present stretch of low temperatures at or below 30 degrees is tied for the longest streak at the Savannah Airport.
Records go back to 1874.

But now it's time to warm back up!
For tonight, only a few locations will drop below freezing. Inland areas will see lows in the lower to mid 30s. If you live on the coast, lows will drop to the lower 40s. It will stay dry with only a few clouds and light north winds.
On Friday, make plans to enjoy the warm up! With a mix of sun and clouds, highs will reach the mid to upper 60s! Take advantage of this day...because....
Over the weekend, a storm system will move in from the southwest, and it will bring rain showers. Rain could be heavy at times, and some locations could pick up more than an inch of rain. Most of the rain is forecast to fall on Saturday, but some rain showers could hold over and fall on Sunday.
Keep Looking Up!
