A flood warning continues for the Savannah River near Clyo affecting Effingham and Screven Counties in southeastern Georgia as well as Hampton and Jasper Counties in South Carolina.
At 7 pm Thursday the Savannah River near Clyo had a stage of 14.8 feet. Flood stage is 11 feet. Minor flooding is occurring. The river is forecast to continue its slow fall. At 14.5 feet, the bottom floor of several riverfront homes along Tom Goethe Road begin to flood.
A flood warning remains in effect for the Ogeechee River near Eden affecting Bryan, Effingham, and Chatham Counties.
At 7 pm Thursday the Ogeechee River near Eden had a stage of 9.4 feet. Flood stage is 9 feet. Minor flooding is occurring. The river is forecast to fall below flood stage by Saturday evening. At 9.0 feet, the private camping club and access road off Old Jenks Turnpike are flooded.
