Our nice weather pattern is coming to an end. Instead, we have an impressive storm system headed our way, and it will hit on Thursday.
For tonight, clouds will increase as skies become overcast. After midnight, rain showers will then be possible. With light southeast winds, we will stay mild with lows dropping to the upper 40s to the mid 50s.
On Thursday, don't leave home without the rain gear. Rain will definitely fall, and we could see thunderstorms in the afternoon. There is a small threat of severe weather. If severe thunderstorms develop, they could produce damaging winds and even isolated tornadoes. We also could see heavy rain, which could lead to some localized flooding. Most of us will receive between 1 and 2 inches, but some isolated areas could see even more with 2-3 inch totals!
Thursday is a day when you want to keep an eye to sky and stay tuned to STORM TEAM 3 for the latest updates. Storm Team 3 Meteorologist Lee Haywood will be here in the morning, Meteorologist David Ernst will also provide updates throughout the day, and I'll be here in the afternoon until midnight. We will provide all the updates you need!
On Thursday night, the storm system will be on its way out. There will still be a chance of rain showers, but dry weather will return. We will once again drop to lows in the 50s.
On Friday, sunshine will return as skies clear. Highs will reach the 60s, so it will be a nice day and a nice way to end the work week!
Keep Looking Up!
