A very large area of moderate to heavy rain is falling across the entire region... and it is moving slowly. So this is bringing the threat for street flooding as we work through the next hour or two. The tide is high right now... so this could worsen the flooding situation particularly near the coast.
Drive with care for the next few hours... and if possible... you may want to avoid driving until the heavy rain comes to an end.
It's part of a complex storm system impacting the area today. Right now no thunderstorms are occuring... but we have seen a few lightning strikes from time to time across the region. It is possible as we head through the afternoon that thunderstorm chances could increase.
